For the very first release on Anaves Music, we introduce to you the ‘No to Racism’ EP featuring Fred Locks and Sabolious – out now on Apple Music and other digital platforms!
Recently, legendary Jamaican singer Fred Locks celebrated his 70th birthday. Although he already had his breakthrough in the 1970s with hits like ‘Black Star Liners’ and ‘True Rastaman’, 50.000 monthly listeners on his Spotify profile indicate a continuing popularity.
On the ‘No to Racism’ EP Fred Locks collaborates with Sabolious, an Austrian producer and saxophonist. In the context of recent global incidents of racial discrimination, the song’s lyrics are in tune with the times and yet timeless. Musically, it is a dub production strongly affected by the steppers style. The collaboration’s final result is an EP with 6 songs including saxophone and dub versions.
