After releasing his debut album “Truly Gili” which he worked on while living in Gili Trawangan (2018), Radit Echoman moved to Jakarta as his new chapter. Echoman’s routines and interactions in Jakarta lead a new insight in his new works, something he believes as his own musical response and productivity in this chapter.
Echoman found that he got closer to the “System” that exists in this country since he’s in this big city. He felt closer to witnessing the hustle and bustle of politics, the escalation of injustice, acts of violence and also the fabrication of lies that so easily spread in society.
Echoman summarises his personal thoughts of the turmoil and events mentioned above. Then he manifested them in a collection of musical works on his sophomore album entitled “Echo System.”
“Echo System” is a statement from Radit Echoman about the system that echoes in life in the country which he pours into 13 songs rooted in Jamaican music nexus. On this album, Echoman was backed up by fellow artists from T-Fyah, Tuan Tiga Belas, Ambon Bjaguran, Conrad Good Vibration, King Daddy, Rasta Ressy to Masanies Saichu. Together with them, Echoman speaks up about social issues and changes in individual behaviour in recent days.
Echoman’s personal highlight for “Echo System” is as one of the mediums of his musical works which aims to be a reminder to stay energised in living a life that should be accompanied by a lot of social awareness and also to praise God the Almighty.
Recorded since (April 2020) by Echoman himself for Echolabs, this album is available in digital format on various DSPs such as Spotify. Apple Music, Youtube Music and will soon be available in CD and Cassettes.
