Jamaican talent Tessellated unveils new single ‘Me & My Lady’

Tessellated Me & My Lady
One of the most exciting new young talents in Jamaica right now, Tessellated follows on from sensual jam “No Ansa”– with a new genre-bending offering “Me & My Lady”. Fresh from the track’s world premiere on renowned radio platform BBC 1Xtra with Seani B, his latest heater leans heavily on sounds from the Caribbean islands, as he takes the opportunity to serenade the lady in his life.

Co-produced by sought after Rotterdam based music producer Tera Kòrá, the result is a strong, dance infusing offering from the pair, as Tess further teases his pending EP release.

“The inspiration for the song was the reality of modern-day romance. I remember watching ‘Queen & Slim’ and being inspired to write a song about a powerful couple, a classic story. Then I started thinking about the fact that even for people who aren’t on the run from police there’s so many things for partners to navigate and so many distractions out there. The message of the song for me is, sometimes things are great and sometimes they’re terrible, but it doesn’t matter if we can go through it all together, ride or die energy.” – Tessellated

Bringing a fresh new sound to the popular music space, Tess who hails from an island, which boasts a rich musical and cultural heritage merges influence from Jazz, R&B, Dancehall and Reggae all while keeping his original flare. The second release of 2020 following the sensual jam ‘No Ansa’ which featured emerging Afrobeats act Crayon – is instantly enthralling and contagious, bound to lift the mood in any room.

In his own words: “music is the single thing that holds my life together” and it is evident that Tessellated pours his heart and soul into his craft. Going beyond what is in front of him, the young artist is a vanguard for fusing genres and creativity which he’s been pursuing since the age of four. Tess’s direction now leads him to the forthcoming EP – Tropics Vol 1. “I’m looking forward to the world hearing this, as it bridges the gaps between all of the musical styles I have been experimenting with over the last couple of years.”

Recently celebrating an Emmy nomination for his role in Apple’s AirPods ad, which is sound tracked by his Billboard charting hit single “I Learnt Some Jazz Today”, as well as receiving extensive radio support worldwide and being play listed on several streaming services including Apple, Spotify, and Tidal, all eyes are on the rising star, as he continues to solidify his presence in the scene.

The multi-faceted musician is certainly one to watch.
